The Leafs have been precariously close to the 50 professional contract limit and have played a shell game with the 23-man roster most of this season. Those facts made it necessary to deal Nikita Soshnikov and Eric Fehr for roster flexibility prior to the deadline. - mikeinbuffalo
The fact that they sucked probably also had something to do with it. |

I don't know why we keep talking about the contract limit. All the teams have 45+ contracts. Everyone plays a shell game. This isn't news worthy. |

We can finally stop talking about games in hand too. Florida and Boston have 2 and 1 respectively. Still 12 points on Florida. They'd need an incredible run to beat the Leafs. |

I'd also like to see Buffalo lose out on the draft to the likes of Detroit. |

I think that had a lot to do with it... Especially, in Fehr's case |

All I know is they need to start hot or at least well and that doesn't seem likely due to injuries. |

I liked Sosh, seemed like a good bottom 6 guy, but definitely not someone you try very hard to hang on to
I sure hope Lou signs JVR if he was serious about taking a discount to stay in TO. Don't pull a Chia and undervalue talented wingers. |

JVR is a lazy trashbag who cherrypicks goals in the crease.
Hard pass on a 6x6 contract for that bum |

Damn those easy goals to get in front of the net eh?
...
What do you mean that's what every single coach has wanted every single player to do since the freaking game was invented? |
